Exploring the Science of Amylin

Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analogue being investigated for its effects on appetite regulation, satiety, food intake, and body-weight management. Research into amylin biology suggests that activation of amylin pathways can influence signals involved in hunger and fullness.

Cagrilintide is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical research, including studies investigating its potential as a standalone approach for weight management. In the REDEFINE 1 trial, a sub-analysis reported an average 11.8% body-weight reduction with cagrilintide 2.4 mg compared with 2.3% with placebo after 68 weeks among participants who adhered to treatment.
