GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper) is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide complex that has been studied for its role in skin biology, extracellular-matrix remodeling, collagen-related processes, and tissue-repair pathways. Research has investigated GHK-Cu in cellular and preclinical models involving fibroblast activity, collagen synthesis, wound healing, and tissue remodeling.
GHK-Cu continues to be of interest in cosmetic, regenerative, and peptide research. However, much of the evidence remains preclinical, and human data—particularly for injectable use—are limited. The FDA specifically notes potential immunogenicity and peptide-related impurity concerns for compounded injectable GHK-Cu.
